IPL-Hair Removal

IPL is the latest evolution of light for hair removal using short, controlled and intense pulses of light to remove unwanted hair quickly and safely. The system is non-invasive and is effective for men and women of all skin types and hair colors.

How does IPL treatment work?

The Smartlite technology emits a dual band of yellow and red light which is particularly effective for hair removal and skin rejuvenation. With hair removal, the red light targets the melanin within the hair shaft causing the follicle temperature to rise and the consequent destruction of the follicle whilst the yellow light destroys the blood supply to the germ cells preventing any possibility of re-growth.

What does the treatment involve?

Wearing protective eyewear, lay back and relax while the operator moves the hand piece slowly over your skin firing the Smartlight where required. Most people experience minimal discomfort feeling a slight tingling sensation. Cooling to the skin is applied to minimize this sensation.

How many treatments are required?

For hair removal the number of treatments required varies, depending on the density and location of the hair growth. Most people require between 6-12 treatments.

Does IPL have any side effects?

With majority of the treatments there are little or no visible after-effects. However some parts of the body are more sensitive than others and may redden or swell slightly;an aftercare gel can bee applied to settle this within hours. We also recommend to limit your sun and sun beds exposure for at least four weeks before and after treatment.
